Part II London After Sydney experience I have been very busy to take care of my mother for several months. Would you please listen my bitter story. My father had senile dementia in 1994, and my mother and I have had hard time to take care of him. He was always violent and ran amok, and broke a lot of thing. As my mother was very much afraid of his violence, she could sleep only 2-3 hours at bed, and she often slept at chair. The welfare for the aged is not good in Japan in comparison with it in Britain. So, many tragic affairs happen about the aged people problems. As my mother was almost killed several times by his violence, he looked like a devil. I prayed strongly, " Before she will be killed, let my father die." His violence became worse and worst. And fortunately his former student helped the bad situation. Ironically, my father used to be a very kind, gentle teacher at college, taught the social welfare. He was entered to a nursing home for the aged where his student worked as a nursing man. Gentle smile returned on his face, because of his student hearty nursing. He spent his last 3 months in gentle mind, he was baptized by my husband (vicar). He died at the age of 89 on 1 Oct. 97. That was very
severe experience. I didn't believe,
why great father became like a devil.
Two weeks after funeral, I went to London to see Cliff's Gospel Concert. His gentle
pure singing gave me a consolation. So,
I understand about Cliff's agony of his mother's illness. I think that she is still gentle calm
lady. What do I do for Cliff?
The hearty prayer is the only thing I can do. I think that only Jesus can give a real
consolation to Cliff. |
