Part 2   London

     The report of ‘Heathcliff’ part 1 in Japanese gained popularity among friends.  Only four months have passed since I enjoyed it in Edinburgh.  And I will come to London again---- I felt guilty a little.  To make matters worse, my parents are ill in bed.  But I dared to come to London.

     I booked only three tickets, but the theater sent nine tickets to me mistakenly.  But I thought that it was blessing, extra tickets were for my cousin Tsuya and my friend Nobuko.  Nobuko has a precious picture with Cliff taken at stage door of 1972 Tokyo concert.  At that time she was lucky enough to chat with Olivia and Hank Marvin.  As she has been an elementary school teacher, she couldn’t take holidays except Summer, Spring.  Tickets of 27,28,29 March are days of Spring Holiday.  And Kimiko joined our tour.  She has corresponded with British woman more than 30 years, but they haven’t met ever.  She wanted to meet her pen pal very much.  We four mothers (Tsuya, Nobuko, Kimiko, and I ) wanted to take one son or daughter with us.  We wanted to broaden their horizons to take them abroad because of parental love.  Thus, 8 people came to London.

     I wanted to take my first son :17 year-old high school student.  He doesn’t like study, he loves only sports, eating, and sleeping.  He spends loose life during long holidays, so, I wanted to give a great stimulation.  I wanted to let him have lively life.  Going abroad is a good experience : taking a plane, seeing London a melting pot of races, hearing real English.  But he didn’t want to visit to London.  My first son became my biggest headache.  His strong resistance irritated me very much.  As the day of departure was drawing near, I changed my companion from first son to second son.

     We four mothers have a difficult problem about our parents．  Our parents are ill in bed or are in poor health.  My father actually is in a home for the aged because of the disease of the aged.  As I am an only child, I have to visit him frequently.  But I said to mother ,” I visit London for one week. Don’t worry, Dad doesn’t die suddenly.”  That conversation sounded heartless, but I actually have done as hard as possible to my parents during last several years.  So, I wanted to visit London by all means.
